Alaa is a British-Egyptian writer, software developer, award-winning human rights blogger, and father to a ten-year-old son. He is an Amnesty Prisoner of Conscience and has been targeted repeatedly by the Egyptian regime for speaking up against their crimes.
Alaa has been subjected to torture, arbitrarily detained, and urgently needs international support. He has been on hunger strike and water strike and pushed to the verge of death. The US government has publicly called for his release, but he is still behind bars.
Please write to your representatives now using the form on this page and template email, to ask them to press the government to secure Alaa’s release.
